Clearwater Yard, London

Scott Batty was project architect from feasibility through to completion of this speculative office project in Camden Town.

The design takes the idea of a ‘secret garden’ and executes it with predominantly hard materials: Entering the stainless steel entrance gate, a courtyard steps down to the main reception area, flanked by coloured panels and luminous glazing. The courtyard, set out on the same grid as the building, becomes a part of it. Bespoke curtain walling was detailed to give a totally smooth and clean lining to the courtyard. Within a very tight and awkward site a simple building is realised. Visiting site after practical completion the project architect was informed that those that work there love it!
